Eligibility Criteria For MDCAT


Before applying for the MDCAT exam, the candidates need to keep in mind that they can apply on only one identity card number for Pakistani students or the passport number in the case of foreign students.


There is no restriction against foreign students applying for the MDCAT exam, as long as they have the eligible documents.


The candidates should submit their Intermediate result certificates (HSSC/F.Sc in Pre-medical or equivalent certificate).


Applying students with 60% or more unadjusted marks in their final Intermediate exams are eligible to apply for MDCAT.


However, the aspirants awaiting results of Part 2 of the Intermediate exams, can also apply if they are confident that they can achieve 60% or more consolidated marks.


MDCAT REGISTRATION PROCESS

It is advisable for candidates to fill out this online application via a Personal Computer (PC) or a laptop instead of a mobile phone.


Here is the PMDC MDCAT Registration.

  1. Register using your CNIC/B Form Number/Passport Number and mobile number.
  2. Login to your account and fill out the application form, including your personal and academic information. Upload the following documents:
    • Passport-size the latest photograph with blue or white background
    • CNIC/B-Form/NICOP or Passport
  3. After saving the application form, you will be prompted to print the fee challan.
  4. Deposit the fee challan in any branch of HBL, ABL, or MCB in cash by 2nd July 2023. The fee amount is Rs.6000.
  5. Scan and attach the paid copy of the fee challan to your MDCAT portal account.
  6. Click the “Final Submit” button to submit your application. Make sure that all of your information is entered correctly before submitting.

The candidate must download the PMDC Syllabus 2023. It will help to prepare according to the paper pattern of MDCAT. This test is mandatory for all aspirants who want admission to medical colleges in Pakistan.

All Applicants of MDCAT 2023 are required to deposit the application fee only in favour of the Pakistan Medical & Dental Council on the prescribed challan. Previously deposited challans in favour of any other entity/organization will not be accepted. The registration fee is 6000 PKR.

This test is valid for admission to public as well as private sector medical colleges. Aspirants having the domicile of any province as well as the Azad Jammu Kashmir can apply.

HOW TO APPLY FOR MDCAT REGISTRATION– STEP BY STEP

MDCAT Registration will start on 17 July 2023 and the last date to fill MDCAT main application form is 31 July 2023. After the release of the PMDC notification, candidates can complete MDCAT registration before the deadline.

STEP 1. CREATE AN ACCOUNT FOR THE MDCAT 

  • Click on this link to create a PMDC account for MDCAT. You might not be able to make an account as the registration hasn’t started.
  • You’ll see dialogue boxes like that. Sign up by entering your Full Name, Father’s Name, CNIC/Form-B Number, Mobile Number, Email, and Password.

STEP 2. ACCOUNT VERIFICATION EMAIL

  • You’ll get a verification e-mail at the e-mail address you’ve given. 
  • The email will include a verification code. 
  • Enter that code from your email ID.
  • Log into that email account and look for a confirmation email from PMC. Verify your account by clicking on “Verify Account OR Create Account.”

STEP 3. LOGIN TO YOUR MAIL 

  • Login using your email and password on the link

STEP 4. UPDATING INFORMATION

To register for MDCAT, log in to PMDC MDCAT Portal For registration. Now upload a photo and CNIC/B-Form, and provide contact and academic information. Fill Out all the desired information. Submit the fee challan, upload the copy to the portal, and click “Final Submit” to download and print the application.

MDCAT Registration Fee:

The Registration fee will remain the same as last year i.e. Rs. 6,000/-

MDCAT PASSING PERCENTAGE FOR SESSION 2023-24:

The Passing Criteria of MDCAT-2023 have been approved for seeking admission to Medical or Dental colleges:

  • MBBS: 55%
  • BDS: 50%

RESULT VALIDITY:

The MDCAT result 2023 of one province shall be valid for the entire country and shall be valid for a period of three years from the date of its examination as per section 17 of the PM&DC Act 2022. The results of MDCAT-2022 are no longer valid for seeking admission in session 2023 which was already mentioned on the individual result certificates.

INTERNATIONAL VENUES:

To facilitate the international candidates, MDCAT-2023 will be held at two international countries/ Venues i.e., Dubai (United Arab Emirates) and Riyadh (Saudi Arabia). International aspirants are directed to choose one of these two options according to their convenience of visa as well as travelling.

REGISTRATION FEE FOR INTERNATIONAL VENUES:

The international venue registration fee for MDCAT-2023 is 100 USD Dollar. The international venue’s late Registration fee for MDCAT-2023 is 150 USD Dollar.

NUMS (MDCAT-2023):

NUMS will be the admitting university and its MDCAT results will only be applicable for admissions to all NUMS Affiliated medical/dental colleges.

Mandatory Requirement for Registration Portal (MDCAT-2023):

Candidates are required to upload 1st Year F.Sc (Pre-Medical) Marks Sheet/ DMC while submitting their details on the MDCAT Exam Registration portal. Furthermore, the registration portal for the Medical & Dental Colleges Admission Test 2023 (MDCAT-2023) will be live from 17th July to 31st July 2023. Q: Is a domicile or intermediate mark sheet required for MDCAT registration or on the test day? 

A: No, these documents are not required for MDCAT registration or on the test day. They will be required during the admission process in government universities after the MDCAT result.

Q: Can anyone take the MDCAT test? 

A: Yes, MDCAT is a certification test that anyone can take. Even if you fail the paper, you can still take the MDCAT test. However, if you fail the intermediate, the certificate will have no value and will only be for your experience.

A: Yes, if someone fails an intermediate paper but passes MDCAT, their year will be wasted and passing MDCAT will have no value.

When is the MDCAT result announced?

The MDCAT result is announced on the same night or the next day after taking the test.

What happens after the MDCAT result? 

Within 15 days of the MDCAT result, a prospectus book is issued which contains a form and the university fee structure. You must attach your documents and send them to PMDC via TCS. On that day, intermediate and domicile are required. Within 15 days, every university issues a merit list and then the process for MBBS/BDS in private universities starts.

Is passing MDCAT mandatory for MBBS/BDS in private universities? 

Yes, passing MDCAT is mandatory for MBBS/BDS in private universities. Admission cannot be obtained with just money.

Can students who have taken their 12th exams but have not received their intermediate results take the MDCAT test? 

Yes, students who have taken their 12th exams but have not received their intermediate results can take the MDCAT test. MDCAT is for them.

How does the MDCAT registration process work? 

The MDCAT form is submitted online, the result is announced online, and the admit card is received online. The test location is selected by PMDC and can be conducted anywhere without prior notice.

Is a CNIC required for MDCAT registration?
